Thoughts on the Coronavirus and a smoothie to help you stay well

I am not one to sit and watch all of the news stories flying around about the Coronavirus. In fact, I ON PURPOSE do not give my attention to things I do not want.

That is soooo powerful to remember. When you watch it, when you talk about it, when you WORRY about it, when you feel afraid of it, you are giving it YOUR POWER. So yeah, you’re going to want to take that back like NOW.



My friend posted an instagram story from Costco last week, our local Costco and it had a sign on it, you can check out the picture here, noting that they are limiting certain items because of the virus so you can only purchase five of these items: water, rice, sugar, disinfectant wipes, Lysol. And my gut response was, WHY are people buying these things?



And you can see my comment at the upper right corner. What we NEED to be doing is to be focusing on HEALTH, WELLNESS and the fact that we are well. And doing all we need to do to promote a stronger immune system along with not living in fear and worry.



What is really important is that you understand this. This is a VIRUS. So what you want to do is avoid foods that FEED a VIRUS. These foods include sugar, gluten, dairy, eggs, pork, farmed fish, MSG, natural flavors, corn and artificial sugars. So when you AVOID foods that feed a virus, you do not give it room to grow. The other HUGE piece of this is knowing that your immune system is hugely located in the gut, and that means you want your digestion to be on point.



A healthy digestion is one that runs easy and effortlessly vs being stagnant, slow or blocked up. The foods above are restricting to the gut as well are TOXINS. So using cleaning products like Lysol are basically slowing your body down because it’s making your LIVER work harder. Toxins do not go in the body.

Because I do love Costco, just not for the items listed above, I did some stories (follow me here if you aren’t already) about my top 5 Costco list that would actually benefit us to be staying healthier and stronger during this time, and here it is:



#1: Wild Blueberries

The most powerful healing food on Earth according to the Medical Medium, and I always have them in my freezer. I buy the big bags at Costco, so this is worth getting a membership for! These blueberries that are grown in the wild are grown by NATURE itself, meaning that no man was needed, all of the elements combined to create these berries and they have to withstand harsh weather and ENDURE. And that message is then transferred to you and all of your cells as you eat them.



#2: Bananas

Bananas are the best price at Costco! AND they are powerful healing energies in the digestive system (where most of your immune system is located). They SMOTHER bad bacteria and viral matter. They soothe the lining and they make all smoothies taste delicious. Eat bananas with brown spots for optimal digestion.



#3: Raw organic spinach

Spinach is a great and powerful cleanser, so when you are talking about illness, you really want to make sure you body is optimized to be a powerful fighter of these things like viruses. And how you do that is this: have your liver be very able. Meaning, not sluggish, not slowed down, so spinach is an amazing cleanser for the liver AND for the lining of the gut to clear out crap and debris. I love buying triple washed organic spinach because it’s ready to throw into smoothies, or salads or anything you want to make.



#4: Apples

Organic apples because apples are on the dirty dozen list, so just find those instead of conventional, especially when talking about a healing time, you don’t want to ADD WORK to your body and when you eat foods with chemicals and pesticides, you are adding work for your liver which we just talked about not overworking!!! RED apples people none of this ‘well I better eat green ones because they are less sugar’ nope not the plan. Apples are FRUIT and not bad SUGAR. The red ones are most powerful, especially red delicious even though those aren’t my faves, I usually opt for fuji or gala because they are everywhere and good prices for organic varieties.



#5: Organic Broccoli

Broccoli is a powerhouse food, I love all cruciferous veggies and NO they do not make you bloated. They are fighting the reason you are bloated, check out Trust Your Gut if you have gut issues and need help banishing them to the curb forever :)!



Costco is my go-to place for buying organic broccoli because they have it fresh and frozen for a deal! Frozen, you can buy 4 (1 lb) individual bags in one big bag and toss them in the oven or air fryer or saute them, or thaw them out in your refrigerator if you think ahead, and they are easy and fast. AND they sell a very large bag of fresh organic broccoli florets, perfect to steam or steam saute.



I made this smoothie that I was drinking WHILE I did my Instagram Stories about this very thing! Coincidence? I think not.



CORONAVIRUS PROTECTION SMOOTHIE (of course this is MY OPINION)

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1-2 organic bananas (I like them frozen)

  • Huge handful of raw organic spinach

  • Water

  • Ice

  • 1 cup wild blueberries (or more)

  • 2 TBSP raw chia (I use Mila from Live Pure)

  • **Optional add a nut or other non-dairy milk

  • **I also used Food Babe’s vanilla plant protein powder - it’s so good and only 5 ingredients



DIRECTIONS:

  1. Place spinach and water in blender, and mix

  2. Add all other ingredients and blend

  3. Drink. Feel better. Be better. Get a stronger gut. Yay you are doing amazing!
